Tomorrow (Simcoe Day here in Ontario), please pray. Between 12:30 and 3:00, I will provide a pre-game chapel for two football teams, the defending Grey Cup Champion B.C. Lions, as well as our Toronto Argonauts (12:30 & 2:30 respectively). These chapels will reach aproximately thirty-five to forty football players, coaches and staff.
The theme will be a reminder that often life’s most important lessons and values are caught, not taught. You know, the sermon isn’t what people hear, but what they see. It is going to be awesome. Please pray for these meetings, as well as for safety for both teams when they kick-off at SkyDome at 5:00.
Also, on Monday in my first blog-posting, I asked you to pray for our Argos player chapel reps, Trevor Harris and Jasper Simmons. Well if you can believe it, no more than seventy-two hours later, Jasper was released by the team. It was very disappointing for many of us, but sudden moves are a part of pro sports (a part that I don’t always appreciate) and now we move on. Jasper was extremely gracious and digested the disappointing news with great maturity, realizing immediately that the LORD would take care of him. Please pray for God’s favour and continued hand of peace on Jasper’s life.
